Aico mains powered 140RC Series comprises optical, ionisation and heat alarms, all with Alkaline battery back-up
Mains powered 140RC series smoke alarms have been supplied by Aico to NRC for its Modern Apprenticeship Scheme

Aico, supplier of market leading Smoke, Heat and Multi-Sensor alarms, has donated 140RC Series smoke alarms to Northern Regional College (NRC) in Northern Ireland, for its Modern Apprenticeship Scheme.

NRC has around 20,000 students across six campuses in Northern Ireland and offers a wide range of full and part time Further and Higher Education courses for all ages.  Courses include GCSE and Diplomas, Higher Education and Professional courses to Level 7 and a range of Foundation Degrees.  In addition, NRC runs work based learning programmes which provide the opportunity to study through the apprenticeshipsNI scheme.  As a result, the college has forged excellent links with industry.

Mains powered 140RC Series smoke alarms have been supplied by Aico to NRC for its Modern Apprenticeship Scheme, which is run in partnership with ETT-NI, across two campuses (Ballymena and Newtownabbey).  This will provide the 43 students on the scheme, aged 16-20, with their first introduction to domestic fire safety, enabling them to gain hands on experience of installing and interconnecting smoke alarms.

Duncan Orr, Aico Regional Specification Manager for Northern Ireland, also provided the students with a one hour presentation on the regulations and British Standards pertaining to domestic fire alarm installation.

Aico’s mains powered 140RC Series comprises optical, ionisation and heat alarms, all with Alkaline battery back-up, an Easi-Fit base for quick installation, built-in test/silence button and five year guarantee.  They are compatible with Aico’s RadioLINK wireless interconnection base, which uses RF signals to link alarms together rather than hard-wiring, saving time and disruption on installation.  They can be used with the complete range of Aico Alarm Control Switches which provide a safe, convenient and easy means of testing, locating and silencing all alarms on an interconnected system.

A wholly owned subsidiary of Ei Electronics, Aico is the first name in residential fire and CO protection in the UK.  All alarms are designed and built in Europe specifically to meet the UK standards and regulations.
