Aico’s newly created RSM posts allow for greater coverage in areas which had previously been incorporated into wider geographical regions
Aico created the South East and East of England posts in response to customer demand

Aico, a market leader in domestic Fire and Carbon Monoxide (CO) protection products, has appointed three new Regional Specification Managers (RSMs) as part of its growth strategy.

Two new RSM posts have been created by Aico in response to customer demand. These are the South East covered by Guy Merrick and the East of England covered by Tim Martins.  The remaining RSM appointment is Barry Mather who has taken over the North of England from the long standing Mike Tarrant, who has retired after 13 years working for Aico.

The newly created RSM posts allow for greater coverage in these areas which had previously been incorporated into wider geographical regions.

Guy Merrick, representing the South East of England, has spent the previous 15 years in the ventilation industry, primarily in the domestic sector. His experience in this field covers both the private new build and the social housing sectors; sectors in which Aico is the market leader. "My technical sales background is a good fit" he explains, "and my experience within the construction industry has given me a good understanding of similar clients' needs.  Aico offer and provide a complete sales and marketing package including very intuitive literature, a technical support desk and in-house training for contractors which encourages high standards. The Aico pedigree, obsession with quality and overall number one reputation in the market made joining the company a very simple decision!"

Tim Martins, who is responsible for the East of England, echoes that sentiment "I did a lot of research on Aico before making the move and my son, an electrician, is very familiar with the alarm range.  I was very impressed with the genuine passion they have for their product and industry, as well as the excellent support tools they have invested in, such as the Product Selector and specification tools."  Tim has enjoyed a variety of sales and management roles in the mechanical and electrical engineering field prior to joining Aico, including selling air source heat pumps in to the social housing market for Mitsubishi and, prior to that, working for the market leader in shower solutions.  "Working for a market leader is very appealing", states Tim "and Aico certainly fits in to that category."

Barry Mather, who covers the North of England, is more than familiar with Aico, having installed and specified Aico alarms throughout his career.  Barry began his working life as an electrician, with experience ranging from the drawing office to site work, before moving into the social housing sector as Electrical Services Manager for Sunderland Housing Group.  Having hands on experience of smoke alarm installation and specification, Barry claims he "wouldn't use anyone else's product.  Aico's reputation is one of the best in the market and I welcome the opportunity to join the company."

A wholly owned subsidiary of Ei Electronics, Aico is the first name in residential fire protection in the UK.  All alarms are designed and built in Europe specifically to meet the UK standards and regulations.  For more information, please go to www.aico.co.uk.
