In light of the latest UK Government measures, which it is introducing to reduce the spread of coronavirus, Advanced wanted to update on its current position. These necessary measures have and will continue to have an impact on the lives of the company’s employees and the business.

However, Advanced is acutely aware that some of the customers are currently working to maintain public fire safety in essential buildings, such as hospitals, and Advanced will, therefore, continue to remain open and operate in line with UK Government guidance.

Reduction in staff availability

Members of the company’s staff who are well and unable to work from home are continuing essential operations, whilst adhering to social distancing rules. All staff who can work from home are doing so. All those in the UK Government’s ‘at increased risk’ groups are also at home.

However, the net result is that the company are seeing a significant reduction in staff availability, which is having an immediate effect on the company’s ability to make and supply the products.

stringent isolation measures

Given the more stringent isolation measures being applied in other countries, the company is now unable to obtain some products from certain suppliers.

The company continues to have stock of other components but are having to monitor what the company are able to make very closely. The company would like to assure the customers that, wherever possible, the company are continuing to manufacture products; but one must be conscious that delays to deliveries are inevitable given the unprecedented global pandemic.

Going forward

The company remains focused on balancing its need to protect the health and welfare of the company’s staff with the company’s need to support the customers’ requirements for life safety products.

To do this, Advanced continues to closely follow the latest UK Government guidance as circumstances relating to the coronavirus outbreak change. This is an extremely fast-moving situation and the company continues to consider a range of options for how best to proceed in the short and longer terms, which the company is reviewing daily and will keep the customers informed as the situation changes.
