Expert Installer CPD training scheme

To date, Expert Installer has trained over 17,500 industry employees in domestic Fire Alarm specification and installation. To ensure content remains fresh, relevant and is delivered in a way that is engaging, Expert Installer has been reviewed and re-formatted by focus groups from across Aico, including the Technical Team and the Regional Specification Managers who deliver the training on a regular basis. A feature of the new Expert Installer scheme is greater use of video content and interactive elements.

The core module covers standards & regulations plus alarm system design & installation

Expert Installer remains a modular scheme, allowing people to fill gaps in their knowledge, but now a core module has been established that must be completed if the highly valued Expert Installer certification is to be granted.

This core module, which takes around an hour to complete, covers standards & regulations plus alarm system design & installation. It has been introduced to ensure consistency of knowledge and retain the integrity of the scheme, which is highly regarded in the industry. Nine further modules, each running between 20-30 minutes, complete the revised Expert Installer scheme.

Integrating fire alarm system into sprinkler systems

Aico’s double decker stand at FIREX will be fully staffed with Aico Regional Specification Managers and Aico’s Senior Management Team to offer visitors advice on Smoke and CO Alarm specification, installation and maintenance.

They will also be participating in FIREX’s Sprinkler Zone, showing how a BS5839 Part 6 Fire Alarm System can be readily integrated to sprinkler systems with Aico’s Ei414 Fire/CO Alarm Interface. Other third-party safety devices can also be interconnected using the Ei414 such as Telecare/Warden Call devices and BS5839 Part 1 panel systems. For more information please visit Aico at FIREX on stand A625.

Multi-Sensor Heat & CO alarm

A key focus of the Aico stand this year will be the new 3000 Series, which encompasses both Fire and CO detection, providing whole property coverage from one Series. A highlight of the 3000 Series is Aico’s very first Multi-Sensor Heat & CO Alarm. All alarms in the Series feature Aico’s latest technologies, including AudioLINK data extraction and SmartLINK wireless interconnection and whole system data monitoring capability.

All Aico alarms are designed and built in Europe, specifically to meet UK standards and regulations, under the strictest of quality controls.
