Albany Airport Fire Department stands ready around the clock to respond to aircraft emergencies at Albany International Airport. In addition, the fire department staff respond to emergency medical calls, structure fires and hazardous material spills on Airport property. All fire safety personnel are NYS certified Firefighters, NYS certified Emergency Medical Technicians, Hazardous Materials Technicians and CPR/AED instructors.

Albany Fire Department provides protection of life, property, and the environment from the effects of fire, medical emergencies, and hazards in the safest, most efficient manner possible. Located in a rural area southwest of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, the Selden Volunteer Fire Department (SVFD) is an all-volunteer department composed of 20 members. SVFD’s response area covers approximately 200 square miles and on average, they respond to between 100 and 150 calls annually.
