The Kidde Fire Protection Natura™ Inert Gas System by Kidde Australia has transformed the way installers think about deploying inert gas fire suppression systems, delivering savings in time, and installation costs and bringing peace of mind to mission-critical operations. two advantages The essence of this innovation comes from the Kidde pressure-regulated valve which offers two distinct advantages. Firstly the 90-degree hoses installed on the top exit port of the valve allow easier access around the cylinder and lower the overall installed manifold height. Secondly, the requirement for complex hardware to conduct pilot line testing is eliminated. exclusive valve cap The pilot line is functioning and can be reset with a simple finger press without the need for additional tools The exclusive valve cap that actuates under pressure provides an instant visual representation to operators that the pilot line is functioning and can be reset with a simple finger press without the need for additional specialist tools. The key benefit of this function by comparison to other high-pressure inert gas systems is that it provides building owners, engineers, and installers peace of mind; that the system is fully functional, and the performance can be replicated on demand as part of annual testing or commissioning schedules alike. Kidde Natura™ Inert Gas System The Kidde Natura™ Inert Gas System offers nozzles with 360° and 180° discharge patterns which can be oriented in either upright or pendant style. These nozzles can be used in conjunction with Kidde’s Nozzle Silencer which reduces the sound pressure level significantly upon discharge in comparison to standard nozzles (below 100db dependent on flow rate) and is particularly useful in areas where sensitive electronic equipment is used such as Data Center or Server Room. Kidde’s Nozzle Silencers can also be retrofitted to existing Kidde ‘469’ and ‘C60’ 300bar systems without the requirement for any pipework modification. The number and size of the orifice on each nozzle are calculated using the Flow Calculation Software Suite. reduced installation and labor costs Installation time and labor costs are further reduced with the use of pre-fabricated manifolds, quick-connect actuation hoses, and ‘Quick Connect’ cables. The unique ‘Quick Connect’ cables provide an expedient method of wiring the pressure gauges of the Release Unit and Slave Cylinder Gauge Assemblies. The open contacts of the supervisory pressure switch are connected in parallel using the same ‘Quick Connect’ cables in a daisy chain form. degrees of flexibility Kidde Natura™ Inert Gas System is the natural choice for the inert gas fire suppression system Kidde Natura™ Inert Gas System offers high degrees of flexibility with a choice of multiple agents (IG55, IG54,1, and IG100), efficient installation, and overall lower total cost of ownership driven by reduced material, installation, and labor costs, as well as a more economical refill cost after a discharge. With global approvals and a selection of agents and hardware profiles, Kidde Natura™ Inert Gas System is the natural choice for the inert gas fire suppression system. Kidde Flexi-Gas™ Enclosure The introduction of the Kidde Flexi-Gas™ Enclosure from Kidde now provides an easy and convenient solution to retrofit small format inert gas systems applications where internal storage is not possible due to space constraints. This allows the cylinder bank(s) to be shipped from the factory ready to be installed and shielded from the environment. Natura™ is a product of Kidde Fenwal LLC and the Natura™ is owned by Kidde Fenwal, LLC.
Kidde Commercial, an industry renowned company in fire and life safety for over a century, announces the launch of the Optica Duct Smoke Detector, which features a revolutionary new design, specifically created to address unique HVAC System smoke detection challenges, while reducing nuisance alarms. Optica’s new Duct Smoke Detector design is built to address the moisture and dust challenges found in the HVAC environment, and provide best-in-class detection that customers can trust. Optica Duct Smoke Detector unveiled at ISC West 2024 The Optica Duct Smoke Detector is specifically designed for HVAC smoke detection Kidde Commercial will unveil this unique new product at ISC West 2024, which is taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, from April 10 – 12, 2024, in Booth #4050. The Optica Duct Smoke Detector is specifically designed for HVAC smoke detection, bringing enhanced confidence to site managers and end-users who have struggled to find smoke detection solutions that meet their needs, and address the moisture and dust challenges of the HVAC environment. Optica Duct Smoke Detector The Optica Duct Smoke Detector addresses these concerns and delivers performance that sets a new standard for HVAC smoke detection – reshaping the future of fire and life safety in commercial buildings. Key benefits to service providers include: Specifically designed for the challenging HVAC environment with a free-flowing chamber, dual-wall construction, and anti-fog coating across the complete sensing area to enable greater performance, durability and reduce nuisance alarms. Features Optica’s patented technology to reduce nuisance alarms. Optica uses dual wavelengths, multiple angles, and detection algorithms to differentiate between nuisance particles, like dust or steam, and serious threats. Ensures backward compatibility and easy upgrades by utilizing the same entry and exit pipe locations as the legacy SuperDuct Detectors. Setting new standard for HVAC smoke detection “This new Optica Duct Detector sets a new standard for HVAC smoke detection,” said Wally Ortiz, Global Kidde Commercial UL Product Director, adding “Combining the Optica technology with this bold new design creates a highly differentiated duct smoke detector specifically designed to meet the moisture and dust challenges found in the HVAC environment.” Wally Ortiz continues, “This innovative, new design unlocks capabilities that are essential to fire and life safety system solutions, even for environments that face dust and moisture accumulation challenges.” The Optica Duct Smoke Detector is being introduced at ISC West 2024 and will be available starting in June.
Kidde Commercial, a trusted pioneer in fire safety for more than 100 years, has launched the new Kidde Commercial 2X-A, 2X-AT, and Excellence Series Solution, which offers technologies and features to help better protect workplaces and people. New features These new features substantially reduce false alarms, powered by AI. Kidde is a part of Carrier Global Corporation, a global pioneer in intelligent climate and energy solutions. The new panels offer reduced installation costs - cut by 17% - and are compatible with legacy systems, meaning overall new intelligent devices are quicker to commission and maintain. Key benefits Users can benefit from: Substantially reduced false alarms: Intelligent detectors give a more accurate detection of smoke, reducing false alarms with a patented Optical Chamber. Powered by AI, always in touch: Connected gateways to the panel mean it can be an all-in-one visit, delivering an 80% reduction in responding to emergencies. Installation costs cut by 17%: Allows new detectors to be fitted to legacy systems, meaning overall new intelligent devices are quicker to commission and maintain. Patented Optical Sensing: Excellence Series is the first detector to differentiate between nuisance particles (for example cooking particles such as burnt toast) and serious threats. Alarm fatigue Arman Saeidnia, GM Fire EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) said, “False fire alarms costing businesses is disruptive and often a strain on our productivity at work." Arman Saeidnia adds, "It’s vital businesses know the triggers and upgrade technologies to ensure false alarms are kept to a minimum. Alarm fatigue can lead to complacency within the workplace making it harder for people to properly evacuate and react in the case of an actual emergency.”
