About Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (HIAL)

Highland and Islands Airports Limited (HIAL) is a public corporation wholly owned by Scottish Ministers. The company operates & manages 11 airports and employs more than 200 fire fighters. The HIAL fire service is the second largest UK Aviation Rescue and Fire Fighting Service. HIAL fire fighters also provide vital operational support including airfield inspections, baggage handling, aircraft marshalling, fire safety training, etc.
