The Chaska Fire Department started in 1871 as a volunteer department. It remains a volunteer organization with 45 firefighters, responding to over 1,000 calls a year. The department is proud of its high level of service and maintains an ISO rating of 4.
The City of Cologne has a Paid-On-Call (Volunteer) Fire Department consisting of approximately 30 firefighters who live or work in the City of Cologne. All of their members are Firefighter I and Firefighter II certified. All members are First Responder Certified and out of those, many are also EMT certified.
