Central Hardin Fire Department is an all volunteer department that serves the county portion of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Central Hardin Fire Department has thirty-one members, two stations, nine fire apparatuses, and serves approximately seventy-eight square miles of Hardin County.

The Kirksville Volunteer Fire Department is an all volunteer agency that provides fire and rescue services to 75 square miles of Madison County, Kentucky. The department is located approximately 9 miles outside the City of Richmond in the unincorporated area of Kirksville. KVFD currently operates out of a single station, utilizing 6 fire apparatus.
