Chubb F850542N CO fire detector is an electronic detector used to indicate the outbreak of fire by sensing the level of carbon monoxide in the air. The F850542N can be used to supplement smoke detection in areas where the main risk is smouldering fires and, in areas where optical detectors are deemed unsuitable due to the risk of false alarms. It is set to a higher sensitivity than the maximum allowed by the domestic CO alarm standard. It will respond to carbon monoxide from faulty gas appliances or vehicle exhausts.
