During the pre-build for their sixth E-ONE unit, the members of the fire company asked if they could cook for the employees when they returned for their final inspection. E-ONE happily accepted the offer for the homemade Cajun cuisine.
“I think we enjoyed cooking as much as they enjoyed eating it,” said Westwego VFD Chief Keith Bouvier. “The hospitality was great; everyone thanked us and really seemed to enjoy the food.”
Having used E-ONE apparatus for more than 20 years, the Westwego VFC was not only excited about serving the pork, chicken and rice jambalaya, but were also eager to pick up their two newest units – a custom rescue pumper on a Typhoon chassis and a commercial air and light unit.
“Having four other E-ONE units, we really wanted to stick with E-ONE for these two purchases,” said Chief Bouvier. “E-ONE makes a quality product with quality service after the sale.”
Much of that quality service is supported by Westwego’s dealer, Sunbelt Fire of Fairhope, Ala.
“The Westwego VFC is the perfect example of what a volunteer fire department is all about,” said Thomas McLendon, president of Sunbelt Fire. “They give of themselves without asking for anything in return. It is the ultimate example of selfless giving which is what the volunteer fire service is all about.”
The employees of E-ONE would like to thank the Westwego VFC for their generosity and wish them all the best with their new apparatus.
