UTC and Zener group together create a milestone in the world of fire safety and security

The Middle East industry for fire safety and electronic security solutions is large and is  growing rapidly.

UTC Fire & Security announced about the creation of a joint venture in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with Muneer Ahmad Al-Sheikh Mohammed Sharif Al Olama of Zener Group. The joint venture Zener Fire and Security LLC was recognized with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by the shareholders and local officials. UTC Fire & Security is a unit of United Technologies Corp.

President of UTC Fire & Security William Brown said, "This marks a major milestone in UTC Fire & Security's continued growth in the Middle East and supports our commitment to offering customers in the region the highest standards of installation and service and a broad portfolio of fire and security products."  He added that UTC Fire & Security was pleased to join with Muneer Ahmad Al-Sheikh Mohammed Sharif Al Olama in the creation of Zener Fire and Security. "The Middle East industry for fire safety and electronic security solutions is large and growing rapidly and our joint venture is well positioned to meet the increasing need for fire and security equipment and services in the region."

A $6.5 billion global company, UTC Fire & Security offers fire and security products and services for a wide range of sectors, including power, petrochemical, oil & gas (PPOG), marine, commercial buildings, transportation and infrastructure. "We have been making successful investments in companies, like Zener Fire and Security, in the UAE and in other locations in the region, including Qatar and Kuwait. UTC Fire & Security will continue to ramp up our technical expertise in the region and expand our local presence through investments that allow us to serve our customers better in the areas of supply, service and maintenance," said Brown.

Established in 1974, Zener has a strong foothold in the local and regional power generation, sub-station and desalination plant fire protection sectors, and a growing portfolio in the PPOG sector. Its business includes the installation and maintenance of fire safety systems and the supply, installation and maintenance of electronic security products, including intrusion, CCTV and access control systems. "We have a solid history with Zener, as they have been a long standing distributor for numerous UTC Fire & Security products," said Brown.

Brown also announced that UTC Fire & Security will be establishing a Product Technology Demo Center in the region which will serve as a center of excellence for fire products. "This facility will have indoor and outdoor training and demonstration capabilities where our customers and channel partners can experience the full technical capabilities of our products," he said.
