Chubb Fire & Security to supply dry rinsers as well as hose reels to the University

Chubb Fire & Security UK has widened its contract with the University of Bradford to protect students, lecturers and staff from the risks of fire by maintaining and supplying fire extinguishers, but now also the dry risers and hose reels. Chubb, a leading provider of electronic security and fire safety solutions for business and industry, is part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.

Steve Wiggins, fire safety officer at the University of Bradford, praised both the continuity in service levels and single point of contact as the main reasons for the long standing relationship: “Over the years, I have developed a strong and trusting relationship with Chubb and our dedicated Chubb engineer,” he says. “No matter what the issue, I know that I can pick up the phone and it will be resolved in no time at all, and that is a major advantage, especially in a busy university environment.”

The University of Bradford is a research active university that was founded in 1966, making it one of the UK's 'traditional' universities. Receiving its Royal Charter in 1966, it is the 40th university to be created in Britain, with its origins dating back to the early 19th century. There are two campuses: the main campus that now, following recent development, includes the School of Health, located on Richmond Road, and the School of Management at Emm Lane.
