According to the President of the Association for the Promotion of German Fire Protection (vfdb), Dirk Aschenbrenner, federal, state, and local authorities must use uniform data material when dealing with the Corona crisis.
So far, the selection has been left to each of the participating institutions themselves.
uniform data material
“There are already very good maps that clearly show the documented cases of infection (COVID-19) in Germany based on the current data from the Robert Koch Institute,” said the head of the expert network for protection, rescue, and security.
“It would make sense if such options were used everywhere in the responsible positions.”

A uniform database makes it easier to assess the current situation and can help to understand the virus and its route of spreading more quickly. This in turn could help to quickly develop effective defense measures.
As an example of a useful tool, Aschenbrenner cited a “COVID-19 dashboard” offered by the company in Germany. The Institute for Hygiene and Public Health at the University of Bonn provided scientific advice.
Digital network
According to the vfdb president, the current situation once again makes it clear how necessary it is to digitally network all security systems to have the same data in real-time.
“This is not just about national data exchange, but also about global data exchange,” emphasized Aschenbrenner.
