London Fire Brigade is hosting a breakfast to celebrate gay pride in the firefighting community
London Fire Brigade celebrates its status as UK's top gay-friendly fire service

Brian Coleman AM FRSA, Chairman of the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority, will be hosting London Fire Brigade's Pride breakfast at Soho Fire Station on Saturday 4 July.

The Brigade, the UK's top gay friendly fire and rescue service according to Stonewall, and London's firefighters will also be joining in with the carnival atmosphere by taking part in the Pride London march.

Councillor Brian Coleman said: "It's important for gay firefighters and other Brigade staff to be visible on the parade, reflecting the fact that gay people are very much a part of London's fire and rescue service. London is the most gay friendly fire service in the country but there is still a way to go to tackle the last taboo of diversity.

"Fire safety is just as important for the gay community as it is for everyone else in London and we look forward to getting some of our important messages across to people along the Pride route."
