G-TEC was invited to a BIM workshop at the Mainz University of Applied Sciences. Their colleagues Annika Hunloh and Nicolai Eich carried out the workshop together with other interesting speakers (Sirri el Jundi - JSB Architekten Stuttgart (architecture) and Hinrich Münzner - Boll und Partner Stuttgart (structural planning)) and the respective professors as participants.

The aim of the workshop was to give all professors an insight into the practical implementation of the BIM planning method. The disciplines of architecture, structural engineering and technical building equipment were treated as examples in the workshop. An important finding was that ‘BIM’ is seen as relevant for the future for everyone involved and should therefore be integrated into teaching.

Mandatory hygiene measures

Due to the current situation, they would like to inform users about the following points and let them know:

The G-TEC engineers are still there for the users during this time. A number of measures have been taken to protect employees from infection with the coronavirus and to prevent further spread as best as possible. Of course, this includes the well-known and mandatory hygiene measures:

  • no shaking hands.
  • wash hands thoroughly (20-30 seconds) (at the start of work, before and after meetings, after visiting the toilet, before and after eating, after physical contact with people, such as hand-in-hand work, assembly work, etc.); Then dry hands carefully.
  • Avoid physical contact at best.
  • Use paper handkerchiefs, dispose of immediately.
  • Cover mouth and nose with the crook of the arm when coughing and sneezing.
  • Keep hands away from face.

Some of the employees work in the home office and the entire G-TEC team is therefore fully functional

Furthermore, some of the employees work in the home office and the entire G-TEC team is therefore fully functional. This applies both to their main location in Siegen and to the locations in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Hamburg and Berlin.

Technical building equipment

Personal conversations or planning meetings in larger groups will not be held until further notice. This follows the recommendations of politicians and experts. However, the talks or meetings do not have to be cancelled, they can take place via video conferences. They are well equipped for this and the trained team will be happy to support them in setting up the video transmission.

It is important to use the crisis as an opportunity. Even when working from home, the team of G-TEC engineers sticks together and continues to work together on the projects. Together they will find solutions in these challenging times.
