IOY Awards held at the Bally's Hotel in Las Vegas recognized uniform and image apparel industry leaders

North American Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors (NAUMD) recognized Hilton Santa Fe apparel program as the ‘Image of the Year’ for 2009.

Superior Uniform Group Inc., the image apparel company announced that its customer, Hilton Santa Fe, took home a winning trophy from this year’s National Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors (NAUMD) Image of the Year (IOY) Award ceremony. The IOY Awards, held on April 25 at the Bally's Hotel in Las Vegas, recognize leaders in the corporate uniform and image apparel industry.

Superior Uniform’s apparel program for Hilton Santa Fe at Buffalo Thunder won in the Hotels – Single Location category. The program includes apparel for the bellmen, doormen, front desk staff and guest room attendants. Superior Uniform’s designers collaborated with the hotel and the head of the Pueblo of Pojoaque to re-capture the true flavor of the Native American Pojoaque Heritage.

Judges evaluated each of the submissions using the following criteria:

  • Overall design excellence of the program;
  • Harmonious design within the environment where the outfits are worn and utilized;
  • Innovativeness of the overall design;
  • Effectiveness in meeting the image goals of the end-user;
  • And, innovative use of fabric, design and accessories to build an image fitting the corporation’s needs.

“Winning the 2009 IOY Award in the hotels category is a great honor,” said Richard Ross, director of sales and marketing of Hilton Santa Fe. “For Hilton, Buffalo Thunder represented an opportunity to infuse our legendary hospitality with the Pueblo of Pojoaque’s amazing sense of vision and a desire to manifest their culture, art and history in the project. Working with Superior Uniform’s designers helped us establish story telling opportunities with our guests and visitors through our uniforms.”
