Specialist fire detection products supplier - Securiton has revamped its popular series of free design guides. The Swiss company’s series is aimed at helping consultants and installers design fire detection in difficult and complicated environments, and now numbers around 30 titles. Each covers a specific industry or application area.

Markus Mueller, Director of Vertical Application Management at Securiton, said the new look guides would now include more color pictures and diagrams, as well as a cleaner layout.

Heat sensing elements

Markus Mueller stated: "Our guides and case studies have been very well received but of course, we don’t want to stand still. We will continue to produce detailed papers on the use of aspirated smoke detection, linear heat detection, and beam detectors, and we will continue our emphasis on going beyond codes and standards to include performance-based design and very early warning fire detection."

He adds, "However, I think the new layout will be even better, because of the clear diagrams showing where smoke aspiration pipes and linear heat sensing elements are installed. We are also, as ever, keen to show the challenges that fire detection faces in tough environments. So we continue to focus on tough, dirty, and otherwise difficult applications."

Securiton’s 2023 publications

Securiton’s 2023 publications, dealing with Hazardous Areas, Loading Docks, and Power Plants, are already in the new format.

All of the previous guides continue to be available on Securiton’s website, and Mr. Mueller said that those titles will gradually be revised as they are kept up to date. This is essential in fast-changing industries, such as data centers, telecommunications, and clean manufacturing.
