The Deputy Chief Officer of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Stuart Stevens has released a statement on the response to Storm Babet.
Stuart Stevens, Deputy Chief Officer of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, said, “We currently have several resources committed to support evacuations and rescues in the areas most severely impacted by Storm Babet, which primarily includes Brechin and also other areas across Tayside and Grampian."

Stuart Stevens adds, “This has been a carefully planned and coordinated operation involving the strategic movement of appliances and specialist rescue crews to ensure we are best placed to respond effectively and protect the welfare of our crews involved."
He continues, “This remains a challenging period and we strongly urge members of the public to avoid traveling to the areas affected and to follow safety advice and guidance issued by your local authority and the emergency services.”
