RBFRS is delighted to say that they will be holding the first in-person Armed Forces Veterans’ Hub on Wednesday, 17 November from 10:30am-12:30pm at Crowthorne Community Fire Station.
The Armed Forces Veterans’ Hub is designed to offer a place for veterans to come together, listen to speakers and meet organizations that can provide them with advice or support them and meet each other. The Veterans’ Hub forms part of the Royal Berkshire Fire Authority’s commitment to supporting members of the Armed Forces.
COVID-Safe manner
The event will be held in line with COVID-19 regulations with social distancing
It was launched in Royal Berkshire on Saturday, 7 November, following receipt of the Gold Award in the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme in 2020. The Armed Forces Veterans’ Hub is open to all veterans. At this event, attendees will be able to speak to a range of organizations and each other, and some hot food will be provided in a COVID-safe manner.
The event will be held in line with COVID-19 regulations with social distancing in place inside the building. RBFRS would like to ask all attendees to take a lateral flow test prior to arrival at the event to ensure the safety of everyone at the event. Face coverings and hand sanitizer will be available throughout the event.
While RBFRS will endeavor to hold the event in person in a COVID-safe manner, they are mindful of the changing nature of the local and national environment. In the event that they do have to postpone the Armed Forces Veterans’ Hub due to COVID-19 guidelines, they will ensure all attendees are contacted in advance about the postponement, and, when possible, an alternative date will be made available.
