Rosenbauer and its partner - Teikoku Sen-I Co, Ltd. have handed over the 200th vehicle from the PANTHER series to the Sendai Airport. The ceremony was held at the newly built production and delivery site of Teikoku Sen-I Co, Ltd. in Shimotsuke City, Tochigi Prefecture. Sendai Airport is located around 20 km south of the city of the same name in Miyagi Prefecture and provides international and domestic flight connections.
The anniversary vehicle is a high-end PANTHER 6x6, which, like all airport fire trucks for this market, was built according to Japanese specifications and the quality standards of the Japan Fire Equipment Inspection Institute (JFEII). A second identical vehicle has already been ordered. It is scheduled to arrive in Japan in Fall 2024 and to be delivered to Sendai Airport at the beginning of 2025.
Strong partner
Rosenbauer and its partner Teikoku Sen-I Co., Ltd. have been serving the Japanese aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) vehicle market for over 30 years. The first PANTHERs were handed over at the opening of the new Osaka airport in 1994, and since then, Rosenbauer vehicles of this type have been stationed at all of Japan's main airports.
"With a total of 200 vehicles delivered, Japan is the second strongest sales market for the PANTHER worldwide," explains Herbert Poellinger, Head of Area Asia, Pacific at Rosenbauer International AG, adding "The high demand confirms our innovative leadership in this segment and good cooperation with our Japanese partner in the airport business."
