The training session will boost up the knowledge and skills of junior firefighters

The session for junior firefighters is open to youth ages 13-18 and will cover topics such as youth leadership, future paths in the fire service, and youth-led activity ideas.

The National Volunteer Fire Council's (NVFC) National Junior Firefighter Program has partnered with Firehouse Expo, Spartan Motors, Inc., and California Casualty to hold the National Junior Firefighter Academy on Saturday, July 24, at the Baltimore Convention Center. The program features two sessions – one targeted for junior firefighters and the other for junior firefighter program advisors. The courses will run concurrently from 9 am to 12 pm, followed by lunch courtesy of MSA.

The session for junior firefighters is open to youth ages 13-18 and will cover topics such as youth leadership, future paths in the fire service, and youth-led activity ideas. The session for junior firefighter program advisors will focus on serving as a youth mentor, applying for SAFER grants to fund junior firefighter programs, and activity ideas, among other subjects.
