FP200 Gold has excellent data and signal transmission characteristics and is ideal for fire alarm systems

FP200 Gold from Prysmian has been installed into the fire alarm system for a new student accommodation block for the University of Liverpool, Vine Court Residences. Split into two buildings Vine Court provides 710 en-suite rooms for students, built with sustainability at its core. Liverpool based contractor Carpenter Projects carried out the FP cable install, finding the FP200 Gold cable easy and quick to install.

FP200 Gold is the perfect choice whenever a ‘standard’ fire resistant cable is needed. It has excellent data and signal transmission characteristics and is ideal for fire alarm systems. FP200 Gold complies with fire alarm standard BS 5839 and the emergency lighting standard BS 5266 as “standard” fire resistant cable. Also, FP200 Gold has received BASEC and LPCB approval and includes Prysmian’s unique, damage resistant Insudite insulation. This significantly reduces the risk of accidental damage during installation or third party damage post commissioning.

Vine Court offers a mix of catered and self-catering accommodation in cluster configuration and it delivers high quality accommodation to enhance the student experience. It opened for the start of the new academic year last September, 2012.

The development is the first stage of a long term plan for the University of Liverpool to provide 3,500 student beds within the city campus area., through major refurbishment projects and new build developments. This new build development represents a major step in the delivery of this strategy and along with major refurbishments this will raise the international and UK profile of the university.
