The new Dash CF apparatus helps firefighters better prepare for unexpected situations they face
The new Pierce Dash CF apparatus is now available on a wider range of vehicle configurations

Pierce Manufacturing, an Oshkosh Corporation company, announced that the new Pierce® Dash® CF apparatus is now available with the Detroit Diesel DD13 big block engine and on a broader range of vehicle configurations – including tandem axle pumpers, tankers, rescues and command units.

“The Pierce Dash CF, which was introduced just a few short months ago, continues to generate excitement within the industry.  The addition of a Detroit Diesel DD13 big block engine, along with more choices in vehicle configurations, generates even more momentum for the Dash CF,” said Jim Johnson, Oshkosh Corporation executive vice president and president, Fire & Emergency. “The big block engine’s superior power supports a wider range of vehicle types; moreover, the DD13 features improved fuel economy and near zero emissions.”

The Dash CF apparatus features an innovative tilting cab-forward design that repositions the engine rearward and down low between the frame rails, with an open interior configuration that helps firefighters better prepare for the unexpected situations they face when arriving on scene. The vehicle dramatically increases driver and officer interior cab space, improves visibility and serviceability, and sets a new benchmark for heavy-duty construction – all in a compact easy to maneuver wheelbase.

The 2010 EPA compliant Detroit Diesel DD13 engine has demonstrated up to five percent better fuel economy than previous engines, while delivering up to 500 horsepower, 1650 ft-lbs of torque on demand and near zero emissions.
