£9.5 million fire safety framework contract will see social housing providers accessing suppliers to provide external wall certification and fire engineering services.

The Peabody Trust is pioneering a tender exercise to help find suppliers who can provide external wall assessments for their own building stock as well as allow other social housing groups to use the same framework.

The Peabody Group is responsible for 71,800 homes across London and the southeast and has its roots in providing safe and affordable housing for the poor of Victorian London. Worth up to £9.5m over four years, the contract will also include provisions for fire risk assessments and fire engineering services.

Peabody plans to award contracts to up to five suppliers and is interested in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) bidding for the work. Closing date for bids – 12 May 2021.
