New application pioneers use of FLAME-SIM training software in public schools
FLAME-SIM is pleased to announce that Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School of Dayton, Ohio, has purchased six sets of the FLAME-SIM software. Dunbar High School purchased the software to be used in their fire services vocational program. The innovative simulation will be used to train Dunbar High School's next generation of firefighters. Dunbar is a pioneer in that it is the first public high school to utilize the groundbreaking training software.
Kenneth Cole is a Public Safety Instructor at Dunbar High School and is currently working FLAME-SIM into the curriculum. The pacing guide for the upcoming year is being reworked to incorporate laboratory time to make the most of the software. Kenneth shared his plans for the simulation:
"I plan to use the software in conjunction with hands on training with engines, fire ground tools and fire ground evolutions. Students will use the software to resolve fire emergency situations with attention to fire tactics, apparatus and fire ground deployment, personnel deployments, fire stream and ventilation practices. I envision the students utilizing the software as a weekly exercise wherein the lesson objectives are carried out via software and reinforced through hands on practical training on the practice fire ground."
FLAME-SIM hopes its customizable simulation will add value to Dunbar High School's public safety classes and enhance the educational process.
