| NVFC is seeking inputs from first responders about health and safety concerns |
America's firefighters and emergency services personnel save lives and property as first responders to man-made and natural disasters, but these responders face great health and safety risks. In order to identify and address these risks, the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) is updating its '2004 Emerging Health and Safety Issues in the Fire Service' study and is seeking input from first responders across the nation.
The NVFC is conducting a survey to identify new or changing health and safety issues facing the fire and emergency services. The results of the survey will help inform the second edition of the Emerging Issues study, which will explore the key findings as well as examine the initiatives, programs, and strategies currently available to help reduce fatalities among our nation's first responders. In addition, the findings will be used to help identify what future efforts are needed to secure the health and safety of emergency responders.
