The EV-PS optical smoke sensor comes with the sounder fully integrated within the sensor itself

Nittan, a leading UK manufacturer of conventional and addressable fire detection products, has had its first UK installation of the new EV-PS analogue addressable photoelectric smoke sensor with built in sounder, installed into a new, medical centre in Bridgwater, Somerset.

The Cranleigh Gardens Medical Centre is a purpose built facility, fully assessable for disabled patients. As well as the normal GP services on offer, the additional space afforded by the move to a new building now allows the practice to offer appointments with a physiotherapist, a foot specialist, additional counsellors and a therapist, with more services to follow.

To provide the new medical centre with the latest fire protection, Fullstop Fire and Security has installed a fire detection system featuring Evolution EV-PS sensors from Nittan. Unlike other smoke sensors on the market which require a separate sounder base to be installed which adds to the cost of the installation and takes longer to fit, the Evolution EV-PS optical smoke sensor comes with the sounder fully integrated within the sensor itself.

Doug Robertson, Managing Director of Fullstop Fire and Security, chose to use Nittan's Evolution EV-PS sensors as he has installed Nittan products successfully across a wide range of installations in the past and has always found products extremely reliable and competitively priced. In addition to this, the unit makes for a far more aesthetically pleasing appearance, with a lower profile for unobtrusive appearance, unlike other detectors fitted to a sounder base.

Even with its compact size, the EV-PS still incorporates the latest sophisticated alarm technology for exceptional reliability and performance, including ASIC design, EEPROM addressable capability, low monitoring current and a chemically etched stainless steel insect screen to reduce ingress of insects and airborne contaminants.

The EV-PS is compatible with Nittan UB-4-EV and EV-PSBCN bases.
