Ken McElhattan, the new Chairman of National Safety Council, will boost the working and output of the company

Kent McElhattan is committed and passionate about the mission of the council.

Kent McElhattan, chairman and co-founder of Industrial Scientific Corp., has been elected chairman of the board of the nonprofit National Safety Council, the company said in a statement.

McElhattan has been a member of the board since 2007. The council was chartered by Congress in 1913 and works to prevent injuries and death at work and in the community through research and advocacy.

"I am committed and passionate about the mission of the National Safety Council," McElhattan said in a written statement. "Their work correlates exactly with that of Industrial Scientific, which is simply to readicate accidental injury and death from the human experience period."

Industrial Scientific employees more than 850 people across 15 countries and develops and manufacturers gas detection equipment. McElhattan severed as president and CEO of the company from 1985 until this year, when Justin McElhattan was elected president and CEO by the company's board of directors.
