EMS Week provides a great opportunity for Fire Corps volunteers to publicise the importance of fire safety, and honour those who provide day-to-day lifesaving services.
The National EMS Week recognizes the contributions and dedication of the emergency medical service providers in the community. This year May 19 was set aside as Emergency Medical Services for Children Day to focus on child safety and injury prevention.
EMS Week provides a great opportunity for Fire Corps volunteers to publicize safety and honor those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine’s first responders. The 2010 theme, Anytime. Anywhere. We’ll be there underscores the commitment of EMS providers who provide care to those in need, often under daunting circumstances.
EMS Week is organized by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and is supported by a network of partner organizations including the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC), which administers Fire Corps. ACEP provides tools and resources for EMS Week, including a planning guide, outreach and recognition activity ideas, information for working with the media, and more.
