The Rosenbauer Compact Line product range has been expanded to include the Mercedes Benz Sprinter with the 6x4 or 6x6 vehicle with light weight rating of 7 tons to enable fire departments to carry larger load.

The new Mercedes Benz Sprinter 6x6 in a LFB-A configuration (fire-fighting four-wheel drive vehicle with rescue equipment) with the exclusive Compact Line lightweight body was another world premiere at the Interschutz 2010. The maneuverable all-rounder was developed as a vehicle for maximum operational excellence in terrain ranging from the desert to the mountains.

The Rosenbauer Compact Line product range can partner with a variety of bodies and chassis (e.g. MB Sprinter, MB Vario, MB Atego and MAN TGL) and now has been expanded to include the Mercedes Benz Sprinter with the 6x4 or 6x6 options at a gross vehicle weight rating of 7 tons.

The lightweight sandwich body enables fire departments to carry a larger load due to the very low weight of the body and the enormous amount of space. Thus the Sprinter 6x6 can reliably transport up to 4 tons of equipment to any operation area. The full height compartments can be perfectly accessed by only one large roller shutter adapted to the body's contour and thus ensure low and comfortable removal heights.

The off-road vehicle, with an integrated crew cabin for 1 + 8 crew members, was built for all types of terrain, is extremely light, maneuverable, versatile and robust. It was developed by the Oberaigner Company in Nebelberg, a certified vehicle manufacturer licensed by Daimler. The maintenance of the Sprinter can be performed at all Mercedes Benz service shops throughout the world.

Technical Details:

  • Transfer case combining a 6-gear manual gearbox, or 5-gear automatic transmission with an electromechanically selectable step-down gear ensures optimum power distribution
  • Patented axle concept with powered front axle, individual wheel suspension and transversal leaf springs. Rear axles with powered rigid axles with spiral springs and hydraulic shock absorbers as well as longitudinal and transverse differential locks (100%)
  • Optimum axle compensation on the rear axles thanks to asymmetrical, dual pendulum axle suspension
  • Increased fording depth of 600 millimeters
