Launched on the government’s procurement portal Tenders Direct on 18 May, the Fire Consultants Framework 2021 is made up of five lots that cover a range of fire safety services related to the design, construction, refurbishment, maintenance, and management of housing stock.

The housing association has allocated £4.5 million over four years for chartered fire engineers to undertake technical risk assessments of buildings to ensure regulatory compliance.

The tender also asks for consultants to develop a digital record and safety case reviews

Successful consultants for Lot 1b must be qualified to issue EWS1 forms as well as undertake other observational and invasive surveys of buildings.

Anticipating the Building Safety Bill and in response to Dame Judith Hackitt’s Independent Review of Building Fire Safety, the tender also asks for consultants to develop a digital record and safety case reviews. Both these lots are worth £9 million in total.
