A three-year-old boy who called emergency services after his mother was injured, was given a surprise tour of a fire engine today, on Channel 4's ‘Steph's Packed Lunch’. 

Tommy – who is a huge fan of Fireman Sam was shown around the engine by Leeds crews after the story appeared on TV to highlight the importance of children understanding what to do in an emergency.

Tommy's mum - Kayleigh Boffey said she was 'more than proud' of her son - Tommy after she fell down stairs at their home. She said he had learned to dial 999 from YouTube cartoons.

Kayleigh Boffey stated, "I just feel so lucky and blessed I've got a little boy who listened to the advice on 999."

Police call handlers spoke to the boy and were able to trace the call. Officers and an ambulance arrived to help in 10 minutes.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Services deliver a wide range of educational programs around West Yorkshire to advise children and young people about fire risk and the importance of knowing when and how to alert emergency services.
