Kidde's roadshow on ARGONITE C60 will provide information on gaseous suppression to fire protection |

Kidde Fire Protection announced the ARGONITE C60 Roadshow which will visit 4 locations in the next 12 months, introducing Kidde's patented Controlled Flow Technology and bringing the latest trends in gaseous suppression to fire protection professionals around the country. Kidde Fire Protection is a business of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.
The ARGONITE C60 system is a total flooding fire protection system that extinguishes fires in enclosed spaces. The innovative technology provides substantial savings on installation costs, while delivering fire suppression performance that meets or exceeds all applicable regulatory and environmental requirements. The technology is suitable for data processing and communication centres, clean rooms, oil and gas installations, power generation facilities, museums and art galleries.
A 50:50 mixture of argon and nitrogen, ARGONITE is non-corrosive, non-conductive and it produces no by-products when exposed to high temperatures. It has zero Ozone Depletion Potential and zero Global Warming Potential. When used in ARGONITE C60 systems, the gas is released in a controlled manner throughout the whole discharge period. This means that the peak mass flow can be 60% lower than in conventional systems without compromising fire suppression performance. As a result, smaller less costly pipework can be used in the distribution network, and pressure relief requirements are greatly reduced.
In addition, Controlled Flow Technology ensures homogeneous distribution of the ARGONITE gas in the enclosure, as well as reducing both discharge noise and pressure impulse impact. The Roadshows will also examine current trends in the HFC market and provide an overview of recent developments in clean suppression agents.
