Kentec Electronics, a pioneering manufacturer of life-critical control systems, will showcase its latest technologies at FIREX and highlight the sophisticated capabilities of its award-winning, flagship Taktis control panel and K-Mesh's wireless fire detection system through an on-stand video.
The K-Mesh wireless detection system will take center stage, showcasing how its self-healing and configuring MESH technology delivers optimum levels of reliability, alongside ease of installation, appealing esthetics, and advanced networking capabilities.
K-Mesh's wireless capabilities
The installation spans some 2,000 apartments in 37 high-rise towers, all monitored by one central location
Wireless signals benefit from a live automatic transfer across multiple avenues of transmission and communication, meaning that safety is enhanced through an ‘always-on’ protocol. The system further benefits from a 10-year battery life; a significant progression from the industry’s previous three-year standard.
K-Mesh's wireless capabilities will be demonstrated on the Kentec stand through the Solihull Community Housing’s case study video; set to become the UK’s largest community housing wireless fire safety installation. The system, installed by Early Birds Fire Protection, comprises some 4,000 sensors linked to a combination of Kentec’s award-winning Taktis and Syncro AS control panels. The installation spans some 2,000 apartments in 37 high-rise towers, all monitored by one central location.
Kentec’s flagship control panel
As Kentec’s flagship control panel, Taktis will play a significant role on Kentec’s stand and in industry discussions. Available in up to 16 loops, it provides up to 144 zone indications and supports more than 2,000 detection devices. It can network up to 127 panels, making it ideal for large sites such as Solihull Community Housing, as well as schools, hospitals, multi-site retail/supermarkets, critical infrastructure, and major commercial and industrial facilities.
Another key element for Kentec’s stand, and building on the market-pioneering Sigma XT’s success, the Sigma ZXT provides additional features, controls, and indications for a single-area extinguishing release system, enabling targeted extinguishing that limits damage and reduces costs.
Evac-Point evacuation system
System can be configured to release the extinguishant on an alarm from any single-zone
Three conventional detection zones provide the alarm ‘trigger’ required to activate the release of the extinguishant, and the system can be configured to release the extinguishant on an alarm from any single zone or combination of multiple zones.
Also on the stand will be the Evac-Point evacuation system, a vital aid in the safe evacuation of residents in high-rise buildings, providing a means for fire and rescue personnel to activate audio and visual devices to instruct safe routes.
KIP Program
Derrick Hall, Director of Sales at Kentec, says FIREX will be another opportunity to highlight how important the Kentec Installation Partner (KIP) program is in helping to enable complex and large-scale fire safety installations such as Solihull: “We are looking forward to showcasing Kentec’s life-critical technologies and through our Solihull and Early Birds video, demonstrating the training and support benefits of becoming a KIP. Our close relationship with Early Birds, through the KIP scheme, has helped to ensure that the sophisticated capabilities of the technologies employed have been fully optimized.”
FIREX will take place between the 16th and 18th of May, at the ExCel London. Kentec’s stand number will be FI.2050.
