Johnson Controls is now offering its Tyco® Series LFII Residential 4.9K Concealed Pendent Sprinkler in an intermediate temperature rating.
The intermediate temperature model provides greater flexibility when installing sprinklers near potential heat sources. It also helps meet recent demand by home builders and contractors, as well as new mandates set by local authorities in some regions prone to higher ambient temperatures.
Intermediate Temperature Sprinkler
The new LFII intermediate temperature sprinkler features a reduced cover plate gap, creating a more appealing aesthetic for builders and homeowners. The flat cover plate conceals the sprinkler’s operating components above the ceiling for a visually pleasing design in homes, apartments and dormitories. “This new intermediate temperature sprinkler is ideal for wet pipe systems in residences located where ambient temperatures can exceed the maximum rating for ordinary temperature sprinklers,” said Hilary Reese, global product manager, Johnson Controls.
“In fact, an increasing number of jurisdictions are now requiring residential sprinklers to be rated for intermediate temperatures to help optimize system dependability.” Tyco Series LFII Residential Concealed Pendent Sprinklers are designed with heat sensitivity and water distribution characteristics proven to help control residential fires and improve the chance for occupants to escape or be evacuated. This sprinkler satisfies residential portions of any occupancy per NFPA 13, 13D and 13R.
