Purchase completes ‘full set' of Scottish users

Highlands and Islands Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed its purchase of VectorCommand's Tactical Command Trainer - Fire virtual reality-based command training system. The purchase means that all Scottish Fire and Rescue Services will now be users of the system.

Tactical Command Trainer - Fire is widely used throughout almost all UK fire and rescue services to train and assess commanders at all levels in fire command skills, in line with the UK Fire Service's Incident Command doctrine.

Tactical Command Trainer - Fire uses a combination of virtual reality, artificial intelligence and common fire scenarios to provide fire and rescue service training departments with a nationally consistent, doctrine-based training system that reinforces safe systems of work.

Billy Wilson, Area Manager, People Services Department, Highlands and Islands Fire and Rescue Service said: "Highlands and Islands Fire and Rescue Service is delighted to have completed the purchase of the TCT- Fire system.

"We are particularly excited by the system's remote capabilities, which was a key factor in our choice and realises the potential for the delivery of incident command training across our vast service area from a central location. VectorCommand's TCT - Fire is an excellent addition to the tools we currently use to train and develop our incident commanders at all levels in the service."
