The event focuses on issues directly impacting fire departments in cities and towns around the globe |
At the 52nd annual Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Conference in Orlando, Florida, Gold Sponsor Global Traffic Technologies, LLC (GTT) will talk with attendees about the way they can harness data to provide powerful operational insights. The Metro Fire Chiefs Conference is hosted by Orange County Fire Rescue and Orlando Fire Department this year, and will be held at the Hyatt Regency Orlando from April 7 to 13.
Role of analytics in fire safety
The Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Conference is an annual event for Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association members, providing them with the opportunity to network, renew contacts and friendships, and discuss ideas and trends in all aspects of the fire service with members from across the globe.
As co-sponsors of the conference, GTT will be providing souvenir photographs to attendees – along with free grill spatulas. In preparation for the release of powerful new software later this year, GTT will also be talking with the fire chiefs about the value of analytics to drive operational decisions, how data generated from pre-emption systems is turned into useful insights to move emergency vehicles quicker and more efficiently, and how analytics can help to address future challenges in growing cities.
Opticom emergency vehicle pre-emption system
GTT’s Vice President of Strategic Sales, Mike Lemon, said, “We are very enthusiastic supporters of the Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association and are extremely proud to be involved with the 52nd annual conference. GTT looks forward to meeting with the fire chiefs to discuss new and important issues – and perhaps playing a little golf.”
GTT’s emergency vehicle pre-emption (EVP) system Opticom works alongside intersection controllers to help ensure emergency vehicles can move through intersections rapidly and without incident. When an emergency vehicle needs to navigate an intersection, the Opticom system on-board the vehicle sends a request to the intersection’s controller ahead of its arrival, which requests a green light, clearing a path to enable the vehicle’s expedited passage.
