The new C-Tec fire solution system helps in providing better safety of animals and staff against possible dangers of the fire.
A new veterinary hospital in Glasgow city centre now features a fire detection and alarm system from C-Tec, a member of the Fire Industry Association (FIA).
C-Tec's powerful XFP analogue addressable fire panel has been installed at the facility, which features a cat and dog ward, five consultation rooms, a dedicated emergency room and an open-plan treatment area.
The system is linked to an array of XP95 detectors from Apollo, also a member of the FIA, which are located throughout the high-tech animal hospital owned by emergency care provider Vets Now.
A two-minute delay has been programmed into each of the panels in order to give staff time to investigate the cause should an alarm be activated accidentally. "C-TEC's XFP is ideal for this type of installation as the panel is powerful yet very easy-to-install," explained Jim King of installation firm King Communications and Security.
"The two-minute delay is essential to avoid costly false alarms which could result in the unnecessary full-scale evacuation of the hospital and increase the likelihood of a true fire alarm being ignored."
