The use of Microsilver as an antimicrobial agent is commonly used in areas the demand the highest hygiene requirements.

The inclusion of Microsilver in health-related products, offers effective protection against bacterial exposure.

Multi-resistant micro organisms

Microsilver has broad effectiveness against bacteria and fungi. This is due to;

  • High purity – pure metallic silver particles act as antimicrobial agents.
  • Long-lasting efficacy – large micro-structured surfaces ensure the continuous release of silver ions with antimicrobial effects.
  • High efficacy – against a multitude of bacteria and yeast, especially multi-resistant micro-organisms.
  • Easy to process in many different materials and formulations

The Microsilver discharges silver ions, which inhibit the growth of bacteria and other unwanted germs

The Microsilver discharges silver ions, which inhibit the growth of bacteria and other unwanted germs and therefore minimize the risk of infection for humans. Within 24 hours unwanted germs on the surface of the products are reduced continuously so that during this period 99.9 % of the germs are reduced.

Outstanding deposit effect

Microsilver can be incorporated into material or coatings during the manufacturing process. This results in fixtures and fittings coated in Microsilver that aid in the reduction of HAI (Hospital Acquired Infections). The Galvin Specialised HEWI Active+ ranges of fixtures and fittings use Microsilver that is uniformly incorporated in the polyamide material during production.

The Microsilver additive is therefore firmly bonded with the product and is therefore resistant to UV light and cleaning methods. Due to the porous surface of the Microsilver, the material used has an outstanding deposit effect which, after it has been incorporated in the polyamide material, has a permanent, reliable effect. HEWI Active+ does not harm the environment or the human body. The active Microsilver ingredient is ECO CERT-certified and suitable for the use of skin care products.
