Gold is now installed in the fire alarm
systems and disabled refuges across
ten BSF schools in the Bristol area

Suitably certified, correctly installed and reliable fire safety systems are required for school environments.

School environments require fire safety systems that are reliable, suitably certified and correctly installed. An integral component of any such system is the fire resistant cabling. So, when Sovereign Fire and Security Ltd were subcontracted to carry out work under the BSF (Building Schools for the Future) programme they used Prysmian’s FP200 Gold. 1.5mm 2 and 4 core FP200 Gold is now installed in the fire alarm systems and disabled refuges across ten BSF schools in the Bristol area.

Neil Clements, Director of Sovereign Fire and Security Ltd, explained why he used FP200 Gold: “Of the specified list of cables for this project, Prysmian FP200 Gold stood out from the rest. This cable is of a very high quality, is easy to install and use and of most importance complies with all the relevant British Standards. FP200 Gold is also a product that is commercially viable as it is always readily available from wholesalers.”

FP200 Gold is approved for fire detection and fire alarm critical signal paths in BS5839 – 1:2002 ‘standard’ application areas, voice alarm systems to BS 5839-8:1998 (AMD 2006) and emergency lighting systems to BS5266-1:2005.
