In the course of a large-scale exercise on the A8 Innkreisautobahn freeway, September 17, 2009, EMEREC clearly demonstrated that it is ready for operations. The major focus of this exercise was supporting leadership responsibilities of operational staff by improving networking and providing up-to-date information.

EMEREC provides the required information interface to fire fighters

EMEREC will exhibit at Interschutz 2010, Leipzig. EMEREC provides relevant operational data to the fire industry, any time, anywhere.

In the meantime, the next step towards optimizing the system has already been taken. The system has been in practical deployment since March 2010. Wels Fire Department will now test EMEREC's capabilities in a variety of operational scenarios in its routine work. "EMEREC gives us all the relevant operational data, at any time and anywhere," says Roland Weber, Head of Operations, Wels Fire Department. "The key to trouble-free handling in an emergency situation is the type, quality and availability of the right information." This helps to optimize operational steps in rescuing and protecting humans, rescuing animals and property, and fighting fires.

The mobile tablet PCs used by Wels Fire Department have a direct link to EMEREC operation system

The mobile tablet PCs used by Wels Fire Department have a direct link to EMEREC. This is where all relevant operational systems, such as the Wels Fire Department's emergency operations computer, the hazardous substances database, vehicle rescue data sheets, key data etc., are all integrated to form a single system. Instead of the previous situation, in which a variety of inhomogeneous data sources needed to be accessed to retrieve information, a simple and handy tablet PC now replaces the various media. Mobile information retrieval is now available at any time.

The fact that the individual mobile units are networked adds special value. All staff involved in the operation now have access to the same knowledge base, thanks to EMEREC. A permanent exchange with the current overview of the scenario thus facilitates the whole operation procedure.

The excellent first-hand experience gained by practical testing will be taken into account on perfecting and finalizing the system. "Only by mutually developing solutions of this kind in the scope of a partnership can you hope to create a product that fulfills the requirements posed by daily operational practice", comments Ing. Franz Humer, Vice President ÖBFV (Austria's association of professional fire departments).

At Interschutz 2010 in Leipzig, June 7-12, 2010, EMEREC will be one of highlights presented to an international, professional audience.
