DisasterRecovery Center (DRC) in Grant County operated by WEM and FEMA will help the storm and flood affected local residents.
A Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) will open in Grant County. Residents who were affected by severe storms, tornadoes and flooding July 20-24 will be able to meet, face-to-face, with disaster recovery specialists. The DRC will be located in the Lancaster Fire Station, 312 N. Washington St., Lancaster, Wis. 53813.
The DRC will be operated jointly by Wisconsin Emergency Management (WEM) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through close of business Oct. 7.
Before visiting a DRC, applicants should apply for assistance online at Disaster Assistance website or by calling +1 800-621-FEMA/3362. Speech- and hearing-impaired individuals may call (TTY) +1 800-462-7585. The hotline is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days per week.
Bilingual specialists will be on hand at DRCs to help guide individuals through the disaster assistance application process and to explain information about other disaster programs available from the U.S. Small Business Administration, state and local agencies and voluntary organizations.
SBA low-interest disaster loans are available for homeowners, renters, businesses and private non-profit organizations of all sizes to cover uninsured damages from the severe storms and flooding. SBA customer service representatives will be present at the DRC to answer questions, explain the application process, issue applications and help individuals complete their applications. For federal/state disaster assistance, residents must apply with FEMA even if they have already provided damage information to local officials, other agencies or organizations.
