| New fire service examinations from CPS Resource Services can be learnt about at this year's FRI |
Two new entry level and two new fire captain examinations are now available from CPS Human Resource Services.
Jennifer Wynn, CPS senior personnel management consultant, said: "The updated fire captain tests feature revisions in the fire inspection section which use the latest edition of the International Fire Service Training Association's Fire Inspection and Code Enforcement as the source."
The new entry level examinations include sections on community living. "Interpersonal skills and overall sensitivity to the public are becoming increasingly important to fire service positions. These tests add these elements," said CPS personnel management consultant, Clinton Kelly.
In conjunction with a written examination and/or as an alternative method to help evaluate candidates, CPS offers fire agencies the option of an assessment center process.
