The new framework agreement includes fire extinguishers, fire blankets, gas suppression

Chubb Fire & Security UK has won a new contract to supply and maintain a range of fire-fighting products and systems to protect several Blackpool Council public and municipal buildings, including its historic town hall.

Chubb is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.

The new framework agreement includes fire extinguishers, fire blankets, gas suppression and sprinkler systems and dry risers. The agreement allows public sector customers to enjoy efficiency savings through access to a wide range of services, including facilities management, waste, buildings, highways, energy, fleet and office and business machines.

As well as the town hall, the servicing and maintenance contract includes libraries and the illumination station on the famous Blackpool promenade.

Blackpool Council is a unitary authority area of Lancashire with an estimated population of 142,000, making it the fourth most densely populated borough in England and Wales outside Greater London.
