Global is so happy to be celebrating Assistant Quantity Surveyor Kenny Robertson placing as a Runner Up in the CHIC Ltd (Communities & Housing Investment Consortium) Trainee of the Year Awards. From Kenny’s first day, Global has been impressed with his can-do attitude and approach to learning and improving himself.

He has continually strived to build his skills within his role and to advance throughout the company. Being one of the youngest members of staff, Global has always been immensely proud to watch him grow up and has tried to provide him with as much support as possible in all of his endeavors.

Joinery Apprenticeship

Kenny, having only GCSEs when he came on a Joinery Apprenticeship, was determined to go to university to get his degree despite not having the relevant qualifications for admission.

For 12 months, Kenny would do a 120+ mile round trip weekly from his home in Nottingham to Barnsley to complete a Foundation Course in Level 3 Quantity Surveying in order to qualify for his degree. He did all of this whilst still holding down a full-time job at Global.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Kenny has started his Construction Management at Nottingham Trent University

From here, Kenny has moved into his new Assistant Quantity Surveyor role, being closely mentored by Senior Contracts Managers and Management. As of the new school term, Kenny has started his Construction Management at Nottingham Trent University.

This is a full-time course, and whilst other students will have a more casual work/school balance, Kenny is fitting both his full-time role and university into his schedule, working incredibly hard to ensure his work for both is to a high standard.

accreditations and qualifications

Kenny has also completed multiple accreditations and qualifications in his years with Global, securing his RISC CPD, ASFP Level 1 & 2, and earning his Extended Level 3 in Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management all before the age of 21.

His development and passion to learn have amazed the team over the years, and it is incredibly proud to have been able to facilitate his development by tailoring his working hours and funding his progression.
