Richard Cranham, the new Business Development Executive at Bristol Uniforms
New appointee will lead Bristol Uniforms into new markets

Bristol Uniforms has appointed Richard Cranham as Business Development Executive to head up the company's expansion of its personal protective equipment business into the industrial fire markets in the UK. This new role has been created to give greater focus to the company's ambitions to deliver improved PPE and managed services to industrial and airport firefighting teams.

Bristol currently supplies around 30 of the UK's airport fire services, including BAA, with firefighter PPE and has seen a steady increase in the number adopting the company's lighter weight Ergotech™ and Ergotech Action™ designs in recent years. Richard's deployment in this sector will present more of the country's airports with a better opportunity to examine in greater depth the benefits of a combined PPE supply and managed services arrangement which a number of airports have already adopted.

Major industrial complexes and process plant operators in the gas, oil and petrochemical industries are examples of businesses which frequently provide their own site firefighting facilities. Following a number of high profile major fires in recent years, companies may be re-assessing their on-site capabilities within which the type of firefighter protection specified may also be under review. Bristol is able to offer a number of alternatives using the latest fabrics made from DuPont Nomex™, Pbi™ and Kermel™ fibres as well as aluminised close proximity garments for fighting hot fires where intense heat and severe flame lick are major hazards.

Richard comes to Bristol with a background in sales of PPE to both end users and distributors and, in particular, a successful track record in new market development. Commenting on his new role with the company Richard said, "I am delighted to be joining an experienced sales team at Bristol, a company whose growth and development over recent years I have seen from the outside but now have the opportunity to contribute to. There is no doubting the potential which exists in the industrial fire sector with the wide range of options we have to offer. I am looking forward to the challenge of realising the opportunities which exist in markets which are undergoing a period of significant change."
