In an in-store leaflet recently published by the DIY firm, the company highly recommended that businesses and landlords ensure all fire-fighting appliances in their buildings have Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) certification.
Buying appliances with the LPCB certificate are an integral part of any fire risk assessment. They not only guard against injury, but also against litigation.
The loss prevention certification scheme has been developed by experts and is built upon independent research.
Companies that have LPCB certification can advertise the fact in their media and on promotional materials.
The certification covers many fire-related appliances, including fire detection systems, automatic sprinkler systems and portable fire extinguishers.
