| Over £53,000 was donated in 2014 towards charities nominated by Aico employees |
Aico, a market leader in domestic Fire and Carbon Monoxide (CO) protection products, is proud to have made charitable donations of over £53,000 in 2014. An incredible 70 charities have benefitted from the donations, with just over 50% going to local charities in the Shropshire area, including Oswestry where Aico’s premises are located. The charities were nominated by Aico employees.
Rosalyn Morris, Finance & Operations Director at Aico, comments on this generous act: “Aico has an excellent reputation for quality product and, just as importantly for quality service. Without professional, dedicated staff, we wouldn’t be able to provide this level of service. We genuinely value all of our employees, many of whom live locally. We try to give something back to our immediate community every year, as well as to national charities that our staff identify as important to them. Giving something back to the charities that matter to everyone at Aico is really important to us and something we are very proud of.”
In addition to the direct charitable contributions made by the company, Aico staff is also very active individually raising money for charity, from cake sales to sponsored events.
2015 sees Aico’s 25th anniversary. The company has grown from a handful of people when it first started to 52 staff and has become the market leader in mains powered domestic smoke alarms; Aico has more mains powered smoke alarms installed in social housing than any other manufacturer.
