The new Metz 32 aerial recently supplied to the city of Toulouse

On April 8, 2009, Metz Aerials delivered a new L32 to the fourth largest city in France, Toulouse. Metz has previously supplied Toulouse with two aerial ladders in 2000 and 2003.

The CAN bus-controlled aerial ladder type Metz L32 meets the requirements of DLA(K) 23/-12 according to DIN EN 14 043. The chassis is a Mercedes-Benz Atego 1529 F series, with an output of 210 kW and automatic transmission.

The special color combination is an immediate eye-catcher and is part of the vehicle safety concept. The four-section ladder is painted charcoal gray, while the protective panels of the foldaway cage - which is designed for 270 kg and has 4 entries - as well as the entire body have the color of French fire engines. The roller shutters of the compartments were painted yellow.

To ensure that the firefighting equipment satisfies these standards, the L32 comes equipped with the following:

  • Fuel-operated generator
  • ROSENBAUER "service4fire" service tool
  • Rotating stretcher support with a load capacity of 200 kg, suitable for French stretchers.

The Metz success in France is another obvious sign of to what degree functionality, quality and design are valued by French fire departments, as well as in many other European countries.
